Renovation of an existing 5 star hotel, the Vista Palace, with 70 rooms for 7250m2 into a new hotel with 83 rooms including 16 suites for 9461m².
Located on a rocky peak in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin which dominates the Mediterranean and offers, from the top of its 300 meters, one of the most sumptuous panoramas of the French Riviera. A perfect symbiosis between nature and architecture. The project consisted of sublimating this osmosis and minimizing the visual impact of the building as much as possible in order to preserve the beauty of this unique landscape. The main challenge consists in the gentle intervention to reconstitute the volumetry of the hill. The ever present vegetation is an integral and very natural part of the project.
The project is structured in three entities: Vista Aero, Cristaux and Corniche. They harmonize architecturally and create a strong coherence of the building in the landscape.
The aim here is to reinforce the impression of vertigo and the idea that the building is balanced on the cliff by accentuating the overhangs. With its sober and pure volumetry, the building imposes itself by the strength of its simplicity.
