Fanling Phase 1 is Hong Kong’s first residential development promoting Healthy Living. The clubhouse building pays homage to the Glass House by Philip Johnson, and is designed as a “Pavilion in the Park”.
The pavilion’s art-gallery-like glass façade is inspired by the Aalto vase, with two-storey high curved panels made possible by the latest advances in glass technology. The biophilic design maximises enjoyment while encouraging natural ventilation and lighting. This is realised by glass walls, sliding and folding doors and architectural detailing.
Two dancing ribbons of bronze cladding undulate around the periphery of the pavilion, gracefully softening the building.
A welcoming two-storey high glassy entrance foyer leads to animated pocket spaces that encourage diverse activities. An indoor swimming pool adjoins an outdoor children’s pool; a yoga deck also has indoor and outdoor areas. On the rooftop, an entertaining swimming pool with giant cinema screen plus a barbecue area add to facilities, and boost the pavilion’s visual appeal for surrounding apartments.
Green building designs are incorporated in all building aspects, with sustainable materials employed as far possible.
