Figleaf Bar & Lounge at Hotel Zena is an experimental fusion between an interactive art gallery, neighborhood hub, and vibrant restaurant lounge. It celebrates female empowerment and accomplishments through provocative feminist art. Every curving line intentionally leads guests to another moment of discovery, and ideally informative conversations.

The lounge had to be open to the public 24/7, flexible & dividable so it could be sold for multiple private social events and F&B. The round bar strategically separates the two main venues along with a low height corridor leading guests back to a PDR capable of opening to the main restaurant seating.

Designed to engage and inspire impactful conversations over great food and drinks the design playfully supports the powerful message of gender equality. Inclusive and warm guests can interact with the art and learn about the artist and the subject matter. Spaces flow freely between the hotel and bar/lounge space, accentuated by the curvilinear wall of 12k protest buttons, bold mural of the late RBG constructed entirely of hand-painted tampons, or the 50’ light sculpture of a serpent, the symbol of rebirth watching above.
