Internationally renowned design studio, Minarc, has created an art collector's sanctuary. Fusing the luxurious tree canopy of Upper Nichols Canyon with an effective use of green methods and materials, this project is inspired by the beautifully dramatic landscapes found in nature.
The living room includes a spacious island connecting the kitchen and dining area to enhance the flow of the space. The first level offers a home office with a powder room featuring black marble walls imitating the flow of Icelandic lava and a recycled rubber sink, made of recycled rubber tires. Design elements are oriented to take optimum advantage of natural light and cross ventilation.
A wall of disappearing glass panels open to a lavish terrace featuring a tile installation from Cuban-American artist Jorge Pardo, a swimming pool, built-in barbecue and loggia with a fire pit. Upstairs, the sophisticated and serene master suite includes a private balcony and additional en-suite bedrooms, each with their designated outdoor space and a generous library. Created with the environment in mind, drought-resistant landscaping and reclaimed wood this home offers an ideal flow of indoor and outdoor living.
