The resort is situated on a 30.000 m2 site between one of the busiest roads on the island of Bonaire and the Caribbean sea. Two buildings with the main entrance in between and a wall of local coral stone along the road block the traffic noises. Instead of one main building with a lobby, rooms, restaurants, offices and facilities under one roof all different functions are accommodated in twenty separate buildings. There are eight buildings containing 24 rooms each; four of them are overlooking the Caribbean sea, the other four are overlooking the island. These buildings In front of all rooms and villa’s flows a lazy river. There are three types of room, varying from 26,5 m2 to 32 m2; all rooms have 8 m2 terraces and small kitchens. In the centre of the site stands a building with the reception and a restaurant under a 1.000 m2 big tent, providing shade over waiting and dining areas. The roofs of most buildings are covered with a total of 562 solar panels, providing 210.750 Wp. Chogogo has also opted for energy efficient cooling equipment, electric rental cars and bikes, a reverse osmosis installation providing desalinated water for the pool and carefully shaded glass sections.
