Resting along the beautiful Oregon coastline, the Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa practically dips its toes into the ocean. Sited near Cape Kiwanda, the seaboard structure is nestled into a steep hillside and features breathtaking views of the beach, Haystack Rock, and the Pacific Ocean. Inspired by the Pacific Northwest, each space of this retreat was carefully designed to achieve a balance of elegance and ruggedness, natural and contemporary.
When guests arrive, they are led up a meandering cedar walkway into a dramatic gabled entrance that continues through the lobby. The liberal use of wood and dark stone, complimented by local artwork and Pendleton fabrics, creates a lodge-like feeling throughout. Cedar and steel beams frame ocean views from each of the 33 guest rooms. Amenities include an ocean-view bar and restaurant; various serene, fire-lit nooks; and a luxurious fitness and day spa.
Cedar shingles on the building’s exterior weather silvery-gray, akin to the rocks, trees, and sand that are meant to endure in the harsh coastal climate. In contrast, the interior is warm and inviting, providing respite for guests to relax and recharge in preparation for their next adventure.
