Wanda Reign Hotel Shanghai is a flagship hotel of Wanda Hotels & Resorts with a rating over five-star. It’s located in the historic Bund that enjoys world fame alongside the Huangpu River, commanding sweeping views of the entire Bund and Lujiazui skyline.
The exterior design employs the Art Deco style typical of classical architectures in the Bund. And the interiors further embodied this style with the lavish ornamentation—the bold geometric shapes that incorporate cultural elements of old Shanghai like magnolias, the decorative pilasters with flowing lines, the metallic screens covered by simple and symmetric patterns—which on the whole emanates an old-fashioned vibe taking you a century back to the city in its twenties and thirties. Generally, the hotel adopts a gray theme that features contrasting shades of fiery red, elegant blue and metallic gold and bronze, which clearly bespeak the Art Deco style.
Beside the Art Deco-inspired furniture and lamps, the designers, in collaboration with over 60 artists, also tailored 89 artworks to fit the varied corners of the hotel, making a veritable art palace out of it.
