The hotel building, which used to be an office building, was built in the 70s. The renovation of the building retains the characteristics of that era through the use of contemporary facade materials, linking the modern with the 70s. The interior space design of the hotel leads guests back to the 1920s. And the old dock behind the hotel brings people back to 1898 when the port was opened for foreign trade.
The interior and exterior spaces of the hotel constitute a coherent narrative of history. The interior design draws on the history of the site when it was a dockyard where ships lined up for inspection and maintenance. Inspired by the image of a ship returning from voyage, the design infuses the memory of history into the space style, presenting guests with a unique and unforgettable experience in the hotel.
Xigang Garden Boutique Hotel has brought attention to the forgotten former foreign-trade port. It has become a unique and elegant symbol of West Port, evoking the memories of the past and creating new culture for the dock.
