The hotel portion of the project occupies the first 21 floors of the property. Due to site constraints related to the unique triangular form of the project site, the building has been designed in the form of a soft triangle with radiused sides and corners. This provided for a unique opportunity as it related to interior
planning. Guestrooms and Public areas have been designed to react to this unique situation, and all guestrooms rooms are accessed from a single loaded corridor affording every room a view and the building shape creates unique oval circulation and gathering areas.
The owner mandate was to make the guestrooms “a New luxury offering for Boston rooted in context of place”. The personality of the interiors are derived from a modern and refined New England material palette. Pattern, texture, and form further define the experience by the use of polished mahogany, soothing tones, modern fluted walls, reinvented raised panel details, Wilton style wool carpet in a windowpane pattern, grass cloth accents, light gray stone, embroidery, and a well- balanced blend of wallcovering surfaces of herringbone, patterned textile, linen, and raffia textures.
