THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto, opened in March 2020, has a concept of “Bamboo and Moon”, providing the atmosphere where guests can enjoy a sojourn surrounded by bamboo.

THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto is not only a place to stay, but a place for moving experiences. We create never before seen services and provide a design in which guests can, to the point of surprise and amazement, feel the charms of Kyoto.

Our entrance &lobby and other elements of the guests room are a collaboration between Swiss designer Oliver Franz and Kyoto based bamboo craftsmanship company "Takesada". The "hishigi" style bamboo wall décor has a simplistic charm and reminiscent of the machiya style houses throughout Kyoto’s alleys.
Suite room called Bamboo Suite is surrounded by Bamboo art and garden and more than 70m2.
Throughout the hotel, we proudly display master artisan Mr. Yusai Okuda’s “Yumekouro” unique art pieces, known as “dyed goods of the sun” for how they change color in the sunlight. With the help of Koryuji Temple in researching the “Illusionary Dye” used in garments worn by Japanese Emperors, Mr. Okuda unlocked its secrets and succeeded in producing new color-changing dye technology in 1990.
