The ‘Monolith’ is inspired by the organic forms of the forts of Rajasthan and is visualized as a solid marble block sculpted into a building. Located in the historic ‘Lake City’ it’s a metaphor for new ideas based on the traditional art and culture.
The traditional stone jail depicted in the window architraves, looks spectacular when lit up in the night. The roof level modulation of architectural features is inspired by the ‘Mahal’ (palaces) and ‘Gadh’ (citadels) which this city and the region has in abundance. The smaller square niche features in the facade are inspired by the ‘Gokhala’ which is a feature, to put oil lamps in palaces.
The central atrium named 'The Flying Elephant Court' depicts the royalty and traditionalism in a modern way. The corridors around this atrium are designed as art galleries. The hotel has a ‘Mayur’ (peacock) themed banquet hall. The hotel has four levels as guest floors, each floor theme and colour is selected based on the season that the floor represents. The rooftop infinity pool ‘LOTUS POND’ is inspired from the world famous lotus pond of ‘The Lake Palace’. To sum it up The Monolith is a fusion of spirit of Rajasthan with modernism.
