SLDR burger bar
SLDR is a 2,000-square-foot casual dining venue in New York City [USA] offering a large array of hamburgers and craft beers. This project is the first, proof-of-concept establishment of a new franchise to be launched in the US first and, subsequently, worldwide.
The client’s design brief required that we deliver a space with immediacy of message and an upbeat vibe that would appeal to a generation of visually inclined patrons.
Starting with such clear requirements, the design of the restaurant was originated from the primary architectural values of light and color. From the outside, the venue appears enticing and vibrant, as the interiors are one with the storefront. Looking in, one can easily fathom the layers of colors and the message of an upbeat environment, and can expect a unique and detailed experience.
The dining room is organized on a number of basic structures and surfaces of vivid colors including teal tiles, sunflower yellow upholster stools and bright orange steel-members which give the space cinematic fluidity. Different textures play a part in the experience, the glossy tiles and the hand applied matte plaster of concentric elongated shapes adds appeal.
