A celebrated, James Beard-nominated pizzeria faced an unexpected journey after a devastating fire that destroyed its 1950s ranch-style restaurant. With a decade of history, the chef-owners seized the opportunity to reimagine the space. For the design team, this meant crafting a fresh vision for an established gem from scratch.

The objective was to address functionality while aligning the design with the restaurant’s creative menu and cocktail program. The team envisioned a warm space with simple, modern details, providing the perfect backdrop for food & beverage.

The interior has a bright, airy ambiance from the white, barrel vault shell with soaring ceilings and an open floor plan. Warm walnut envelops the walls, floor, and millwork, complemented by earth-toned drapery, tiles and upholstery – a nod to the clay hues of the pizza oven.

Amidst minimal wall art, a singular piece – an intricately crafted Phoenix sculpture made of upcycled bottle caps – takes center stage. Symbolizing the restaurant’s resurgence from the ashes, this commissioned artwork embodies the narrative of renewal and triumph.
