The River Oyster Bar
Since 2003, this Miami seafood restaurant has offered a time-honored dining experience locals love. Our firm reimagined the concept at its new 5,520 sq. ft. location, featuring table seating for 110, bar seating for 30, a 9-seat oyster bar, and 16-person private dining room. The undulating wood ceiling creates movement, mimicking waves and evoking the passage of an estuary into the sea. The reclaimed wood, unexpected art collection, and water-inspired color palette are reminiscent of Classic Miami, while pops of lime green and electric blue are firmly rooted in modern design.
The restaurant provides a multifaceted dining experience that is both relaxed and luxurious, inviting guests to be part of its community. We invoked this connection by featuring black-and-white photographs and murals from the owner’s personal collection. These images act as a visual, textural biography of what Miami means to the owner while inviting guests to explore what Miami means to them. Energy flows throughout the space like estuaries into the sea, giving rise to the possibility of what can happen when you interact in an open, communal way.
