“70th anniversary of Kope Hya Tai Kee,”
The design concept, “Modern Heritage,” embraces a blend of contemporary and modern elements without strict rules or definitions, creating a perfect harmony between the old and the new. The integration of materials focuses on simplicity and classic tones that complement natural materials like wood, marble, leather, and glass, as well as the shop’s original vintage-style furniture. This combination highlights the unique identity and aesthetic of raw and local materials.
The original wooden louvered walls of the house were reimagined, inspired by one of the shop’s menu items, “Kofete.” Clear and colored glass panes were layered to mimic the appearance of vintage louvered windows, with each layer representing the presentation of the Kofete coffee. This transformation connects the spaces, creating an interactive environment across the restaurant.
The concept of “Let the Pictures Tell the Story” brings old photographs to life, narrating the history and legacy of the shop through decorative walls. This storytelling approach enhances the shop’s identity and offers customers an immersive experience of Kope Hya Tai Kee’s rich heritage.
