This project transcends conventional residential design by creating a deeply personal sanctuary that harmonizes modern aesthetics with the ancient principles of Feng Shui. The primary challenge was to transform a standard layout into a dynamic and spiritually resonant home for a client who values both personal tranquility and social gatherings. The design narrative is woven around the five elements—water, wood, fire, earth, and metal—to cultivate an environment of balance, prosperity, and well-being.
The centerpiece of the home is a monumental, custom-built aquarium that serves as a living art installation. This "lonely movie," as the designer describes it, is not merely decorative but a functional partition that screens the kitchen from the entrance, a key Feng Shui consideration. Its rounded form softens the space, while its transparent nature maintains a sense of openness, creating a visual connection between the social and private realms. The carefully orchestrated play of light, from the linear LED strips that guide the eye to the oversized, cloud-like pendant that envelops the living area, crafts an atmosphere of serene intimacy.
