From an urban neighborhood sidewalk lined with lit facades, an unassuming storefront bathed in amethyst moonlight coquettishly conceals a latent lagering tunnel 30 feet below — where time, temperature, and the experience are all carefully curated. Over 150 years ago, brewing companies were the life blood of Cincinnati and relied on underground tunnels for aging beer. One supposedly haunted tunnel remained vacant since the 1850's until the renaissance of Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine district beckoned it toward resurrection. Enter Ghost Baby. The journey, in and down, brings patrons into a blended fantasy of vibrant social movements – the roaring 20’s and the psychedelic 70’s. Descending a winding, kaleidoscopic stair creates a sense of distance from the world above. Guests may convene on the plush sofas surrounding the public anteroom or pull up to the lively fringed bar. The chamber beyond has become a live music club softened by the hushed intimacy of perimeter banquette seating. As sound resonates along rubble stone vaults, framed by swagged draperies and oscillating light, Ghost Baby reanimates the spirit of Cincinnati’s subterranean past.
