The new space of Department 57 bar & club is located in a unique historical building and combines club and bar space, functioning both together and separately. For each space DA bureau together with YARKO Lighting design studio developed a special colourful and unique visual style, using light, media art, and digital environment as the main tools.
We made it our mission to reinvent the club space and bring it to the edge of design and media art. We wanted to get rid of everything superfluous in this project and make the guests not only hear but also feel the music with all their senses and fully immerse themselves in a unique audiovisual environment.
We were inspired by various natural phenomena that create complex lighting effects and aspired to reproduce them in the interior in a minimalistic and contemporary way.
The space is formed by an existing room with historical vaults. We sought to emphasise its brevity and integrity by creating a single mono-material space that would become the backdrop for media art: in each of the zones we placed specially designed media installations, each of which reproduces one of the chosen natural phenomena.
Bio DA Bureau is a team of architects and designers working on projects around the world. Our main goals are to create unique and memorable spaces and to change the urban environment. Design and architecture are our passion and our lifestyle. We work a lot with spatial organisation and storytelling in our projects, creating unique visual concepts. It is important for us to make the world around a little better and more beautiful, that's why we work with projects from a mere concept up to the launch and know how to bring our ideas into life.
