The 59 studios each hold an ingenious mobile wall that slides back & forth for spatial flexibility when using the wardrobe, sofa, bed & kitchen. Controlled by a metal crank akin to those in library archives, this invention adds an extra 2sqm of living space to each studio. Built-in felt and chalk boards allow for further customization, plus guests can borrow public area plants, cushions & furniture to individualise their studios. Designed to feel like a home’s 'backyard' where friends socialise, the common areas feature cleverly staged vignettes where neighbours from other residences can relax and cook together. There’s no separate reception, lobby and bar. Once a host welcomes visitors, the rest runs via a smartphone app: check-in/out, opening doors & accessing bike storage. Community is a priority; furniture configurations encourage people to share ideas and experiences, while green plants and twinkling lights create a cosiness that invites them to linger and feel as comfortable as possible in their 'home away from home'.
