The interiors of the New Hotel in Oklahoma City are born of the evolving context of the community, the city, the pastoral landscape of the Oklahoma terrain and the prominent location of the hotel at the corner of Scissortail Park. The interiors embody the Oklahoma Standard of hospitality, they are comfortable, approachable, social, but luxurious. Befitting the prominent location of the hotel at the corner of the new park. The prominent placement of the property on the corner of an urban oasis, positions the hotel as an important civic venue for local residents as well as travelers.
Design elements of the Interior spaces are inspired by many regional influences:
• Layered chevron patterning throughout architectural elements-inspired by the scissortail bird (the park’s namesake)
• Tactile Earth textures presented in the local ground strata- these patterns are reflected in the carpet design and has influenced stone patterning and selections.
• Color palettes are derived from prairie grasses, open blue sky, ground textures, and accents of sunset hues.
• The influences of the tree canopy from the park are also present in the design, crystal leaf pattered chandeliers and layered branch
