3deluxe developed the exterior design of the 100 meters deep-sea vessel, ‚Celebrity Flora‘ for the American shipping company Celebrity Cruises. The central creative demand was the aesthetic connection of a cruise ship and yacht elements with the rugged appearance of a research vessel. When designing the ship the highest maxim was granting a direct nature experience for the guests. The suites are equipped with extensive floor-to-ceiling windows, all balconies have glass balustrades, and everywhere the sky, the ocean, flora and fauna are in close vicinity. The protection of the ecosystem was decisive for the concept of the ship. It always remains in sufficient distance to the beaches and disposes of a technology without anchor to hold its position in order to protect the seabed. The openly designed rear with its Marina is the focus of the exterior design. Asymmetrical crossed terraces reaching up to the water surface characterize the distinctive back view. From the private terraces and public decks the passengers can observe nature and what is going on in the rear. The beefy pulled up front with its vertical bug provides a powerful, robust presence.
