Located on the 6th floor of the Bellagio Shanghai, LAGO by Julian Serrano is a progressive experience celebrating the most spectacular views of the Suzhou River. Conceived by Studio Munge, LAGO’s avant-garde interiors juxtaposes Shanghai’s historic Puxi district and infuses the luxurious hotel with electrifying modernity. Concept driven, LAGO embodies Italian Futurismo; a cultural movement of the early 20th century that rejects the past by focusing on forward-thinking and experimentation. The experience begins with an iridescent explosion of colour and light. Leading to the sculptural host stand, the corridor is a dynamic portal shaped by dozens of glass fins in vibrant shades of blue that reflect on sophisticated marble floors. Anchoring the main room, a floor-to-ceiling cabinet displays LAGO’s world-class wine program encased in shimmering crimson chrome and burgundy smoked glass. Reached via a glass tunnel fused with chrome screens, discover Shanghai’s most intimate cupola chamber. Opened to the main dining or partitioned off for exclusive events, the room glows under a grand tubular chandelier illuminating the walls, gradually transitioning from soft pinks to velvety reds.
