Helios is located in the pool area of the Astir Palace Hotel looking to the sea. We were asked to provide 180covers in areas of lounge,low&standard dining, creating in a destination of relaxation.
We wanted to continue the identity of the modernist emblematic hotel building, with its orthogonal grid as a guide extended within our space, with a pergola on top, in order to avoid any competition with the context. The white aluminum pergola merges with the linear orthogonal blocks, being visually a lot lighter, like a sketch over the building. The canopy pixelates into varied heights to host zones beneath it. While the pergola connects space, the floor separates it by introducing split levels in the grid subdivisions. A food and a drinks bar, 2attraction points showcase the artful creation and presentation of food and drink, signature of the Four Seasons brand.
Extra care was given to the existing trees and rock formations. The pergola is woven around and between them allowing to push up through it in stitching moments.
The result is an elegant white structure that celebrates design,character and ethos of the adjacent building,into a more diagrammatic space filled with light&movement.
