Modern Irish Hospitality.
The project brief for this unique Irish cocktail bar and restaurant was exciting and highly unusual: it called for a fundamental rethink of the traditional Irish bar concept, to offer what has been termed by the client, ‘Homeboy Bars’, as ‘’modern Irish hospitality ‘’.
Almost invariably, combined Irish pubs, bars and restaurants rely on a very recognisable set of spatial motifs, ornamentation, materials and finishes. For the client, this cocktail bar and restaurant concept was primarily about bringing modern Irish hospitality to the fore and exploring a series of contemporary interpretations of the traditional Irish aesthetic that would establish a distinctive flagship for the Homeboy brand. Relying almost entirely on the sale of whisky and other spirit-based cocktails, the space needed to both complement and enhance the unique F&B experience offered by 'Homeboy Bars' whilst redefining one of the most globally recognisable cultural assets of Ireland.
The ambition for this development was to galvanise the space as a unique destination, not only in London’s burgeoning Nine Elms district but in the wider London, UK, and European cocktail scene.
