Ft. Lauderdale has a strong, rich connection with the exciting and cosmopolitan world of yachting. Bringing this inspiration into the project offered an opportunity to create a sleek definition of sophistication in both the guestrooms and public spaces. The team drew from their intelligent use of “white space” and elegantly streamlined looks. Vibrant, lush colors are inspired by the surrounding natural richness and are incorporated into the design to captivate and welcome guests. Our design mantra was for a sophisticated, crisp and bright environment that enables guests to rejuvenate in the fresh ocean breeze, the scent of salt water and the sounds of the marina. Maritime-inspired materials and finishes are used in innovative ways and grounded with our use of neutral textures and finishes accented with pops of colors: rich blue color pillows, carpet and artwork that provide just the right amount of a marine accent. Lively murals and bright carpet designs were designed and located at key welcoming location. In the guestrooms, wood slat casing around the window frames the view of the waterfront beyond.
