The word 'Glamping' was introduced over 20 years ago in Korea but its meaning was misappropriated in terms of its quality. Instead of glamorous camping, poor quality tents were installed and profiteered. We came to a mind of creating Glamping, which gives people chances to experience the nature even closer, while providing place to experience uniquely designed architecture and comforts. A place, where nature, ecological values, comfort and modern design are equally balanced. This concept led to the creation of Glamping Architecture in Korea.
Two types of Glamping units 'Stacking Doughnuts' and 'Modular Floor' were developed. They were juxtaposed with a minimum change of the nature. The basic concept of 'Stacking Doughnut' was inspired from pebble stones. The arrangement had poetic emotion of finding pebble stones in the nature.
The shape of the Landscape/nature has highest design character and we reflected this while planning the master plan.
Inner wall was painted by young Korean artist. Instead of toilet and shower booth, the walls were turned into art object. The project also gave opportunity for the young Korean artist to participate this Architecture design project.
Bio We are Architects, who think, create, enjoy and share everyday Architecture. The title 'ArchiWorkshop' has two meanings. One is 'workshop of artisans', and the other is the meaning of 'attacking and defending to each other through discussion'. From a result perspective of view, architecture is a visual work. But at the same time, its origin accompanies philosophy and rational thinking. For that reason, we discuss and converse as much as sketching and this approach allows us for more influential operations and results. We, ArchiWorkshop, think, create, enjoy and share everyday architecture.
