The concept of a boutique hotel chains first location in Austria is to immerse guests in the specific neighbourhood, here the vibrant 5th district of Vienna with its multicultural Naschmarkt.
Guests enter through an understated entrance inserted in a striking façade and pass through a narrow corridor into a secluded inner courtyard full of greenery, a oasis in the middle of the city with outdoor access galleries (typical Viennese “Pawlatschen”) running all around. The garden concept extends into the hotel’s verdant interior, different floor materials/ carpets define the zones – like dark-stained oak parquet floor in the library or red terrazzo floor setting the bar area apart.
Elements, materials and colours typifying the city were used; e.g. the so-called Viennese tile parquet, consisting of tiles laid out in a pattern with a trim edge, Viennese wickerwork for the hanging lamps and herringbone parquet in the library.
The guest rooms give onto the courtyard, with plants hanging from the balconies and providing privacy. They are divided into three design categories, each referencing Vienna in differant way.The wall décor, colours and materials also establish a connection to Vienna
Bio Being a a full service multi-national architectural office BWM Designers & Architects do stand for a custom tailored approach and a cooperative development process.
The project span reaches from interior design and shop design to classical architectural design as general planner in any urban context as well as cultural projects, museum and exhibition concepts.
