The commission-winning concept for nordicwave’s debut lifestyle hotel transforms a tired budget property at Germany’s Baltic Sea into a vibrant boutique destination evocative of Miami Beach. Quirky details & fresh pastels reposition the hotel for younger clientele. The entry features real sand & palm trees; a small beach hut; & a vintage pink Cadillac, while reception’s desk has an aquarium base. Flamingo pink, black & anthracite shades channel Miami’s Art Deco heritage & create a chic yet cosy bar with a custom counter embedded with multihued mosaic LEDs triggered by fingerprints. Glimpsed through the bar’s double-sided fireplace is the leafy, open-kitchen surf-&-turf restaurant drenched in black with teal, diner-style banquettes & solid marble tabletops. Magenta seats define the chef’s table while a fully glazed wine room offers private dining. Public loos feature neon slogans & yellow buzzers triggering music & disco balls when pressed. Neon corridor signs lead to the 50 guestrooms & suites where TVs lower from ceilings; translucent dividers behind beds delinieate bathrooms; & coral, mint & navy distinguish each room category. In the spa, neutral tones instil a restorative calm.
