Two years ago the Covid-19 pandemic was declared. During this period, the caravanning industry experienced exceptional growth, as it enables customers to spend their free time comfortably and safely.
In these circumstances, two leading companies in the European caravanning industry came up with an initiative to collaborate with the faculty in the development of a multi-functional van. Therefore, in the academic year 2021/2022, we implemented a project entitled Two in One. Students of the third year of the Interior Design course participated in the project. The starting point of the task was how to design a system solution of modular furniture, with which the owner transforms a normal van, which is used for business or private purposes during the week, into a functional vacation vehicle in less than 30 minutes.
The presented project is designed as a multifunctional modular furniture system, the central element of which is a modular wall, which is complemented by system elements adapted for different functions. The advantage of the modular wall is the design, which enables an extremely quick transformation of a craft vehicle into a holiday vehicle.
