Our concept design needed to be a market that had a sense of place not only of the state of Florida but the resort itself. The design had to feel as if it had been there for a long time,
quant yet fresh and stylish with a timeless design aesthetic. The location was key to make it easy to find as well as large enough to house all of the various guests needs. Coffee
was a driving force and main anchor of the market. We wanted to wind guests through the marketplace in the morning so they could see everything there to was offered in hopes of
an impulse by or simply to let them know where to come later in the day or evening for the various items they had seen. The many offerings needed were coffee, drinks, self-serve
yogurt, local sweets, fresh food offerings through the day from salads to hot sandwiches and alcoholic beverages for the evening. We worked with the owner to find space in the center or heart of the hotel in the Atrium Plaza. This location and visibility were perfect for a hotel of this size. Our design was inspired by Florida’s Deco period with a material palette of tropical Florida.
