The Hotel West & Main is part new construction and part historical renovation project combined into one unique lifestyle hotel destination. Located in Conshohocken, PA, the design boasts both the modern style of the new 6-story hotel building, with the turn of the century historic Washington Fire Co #1 firehouse built in 1874. Inspired by the idea of reimagining the social club of a bygone era, there’s a modern balance of the city’s industrial past and the influence of the neighboring town’s established opulence. We turn history on its head by deconstructing the divide between communities, becoming a destination for people from all walks of life.
The hotel’s interior boasts a paradox of style—a polished patina with an authentic and approachable edge that’s effortlessly cool. The juxtaposing personalities are married by an underlying sense of wit and unconventional moments of discovery. The design incorporates intentional nods to the town’s industrial roots and the design team worked closely with members of the community to drive a true sense of authenticity for the design, found in custom artwork, specialty materials, and memorable details sprinkled throughout.
