Kläpphagen is a small, exclusive resort located on the Koster Islands, a 55 minute ferry ride from main land. With it's stunning views and harsh nature the location is one of a kind. The resort is the brain child of the master chef Martin Nilsson and the tasting menu is a master class in open fire cooking, using greens and meat from the farms next door, fish and shellfish from the surrounding sea.
Kläpphagen is built like a farm, with a manor and farm house, barn's, brew- and green house and even a duck coop and pond.
The beating heart of the resort is the restaurant in the main barn, with the wood fired grills and ovens in it's center, accompanied with the dining room and bar on either side.
The design of the restaurants relates to the fire and the location. The bar front is clad in burnt, charred oak and the top features a thick slab of local granite. The interior walls are clad in weathered wood panels and upcycled bricks. Copper details are sprinkled throughout.
The resort offers exclusive, high end suites as well as opportunities for glamping.
-The suites are designed for comfort, quiality and coziness, completing the perfect island mini-break.
