DHAWA Jinan Daming Lake is located in Baihua pond, the traditional block of Jinan, Shandong, which has predominantly renovation of ancient buildings complex, involving historical and cultural protection buildings. It covers an area of approximately 9800 square meters and has a design area of 16200 square meters.
The renovation needs to inherit culture and stride into a new era, utilizing innovation and integration capabilities to activate architectural functions. As the main idea of the design, ‘new knowledge of hometown’ extracts the traditional elements and culture of Jiangxi Guild Hall through translation, constructs a new formal framework of the design form, and endows the original traditional architecture with new composition, material, and texture.
By utilizing environmentally friendly transparent materials for the lobby ceiling to create a saves energy’s space, the entire project is equipped with floor heating and sewerage recycling system, minimizing energy consumption and achieving sustainability, creating a modern commercial hospitality space that showcases urban cultural characteristics, and revitalizing material heritage.
