Resting atop one of New York City’s most iconic residential towers, the Tribeca Penthouse seamlessly blends laid-back Californian aesthetics with eclectic NYC style, creating a home in which entertaining and hospitality take center stage. To infuse warmth and character onto an initially spare architectural canvas, the design team focused on layers, textures, and a sense of things being made by hand, while remaining firmly within the Modernist tradition. Custom millwork, bespoke hand-finished plaster, and textural wall coverings are all pulled from a neutral palette, while carefully layered furnishings and art create an inviting atmosphere of easy-going sophistication. Strategic shifts in levels and incorporation of platforms offer diverse ways to experience the apartment, which is especially notable as a means of maximizing the impact of the unmatched city views. The main living area, designed with three seating groups, effortlessly transitions between intimate settings and larger social gatherings, fostering inclusivity and adaptability for various occasions and social interactions.
