The hut `Schönleitn` in the Wattental near Wattens in Tyrol (near Innsbruck) is the first hunting lodge in the Wattental. It was built in 1919 by the founder of the famous Swarovski company, Daniel Swarovski.

The descendants decided to revitalize the cottage. The outbuilding from 1957 as accommodation for professional hunters was included in the measures.

The main goal of the building project was to deal with the existing building and to use the materials available on site. A new building was out of the question for the client. The design provides for a core renovation of the existing building and a connecting building for better usability of the two huts. It was built as before. The same materials were used for the renovation as 100 years ago. No vapour barrier, no plastic, no plasterboard and the energy is generated from a small hydroelectric power plant, just like back then.

The two free-standing buildings were connected by an intermediate building. The joint is the entrance hall and is deliberately illuminated by a skylight, the incidence of light is reminiscent of the original state as an outdoor area.
