A specialty restaurant offering sushi, kaiseki and teppanyaki in a single complex. The traditional Japanese architecture and traditional Fukuoka’s craftsmanship are narrated in contemporary design languages throughout the space. The reception is arrayed vertical louvers, seen in traditional Japanese houses, with shimmering navy effect. The ceiling and wall in sushi area is wrapped in polyhedral panels inspired by the umbrella ribs of Fukuoka's Chikugo wagasa meshed with tin foiled sloped ceiling. The sushi counter is made of a solid ginkgo wood native to Fukuoka. The copper counter in Kaiseki area reminiscing a tea canister, inherited from Fukuoka’s tea culture. The teppanyaki area draws inspiration from weaving technique Rantai shikki in Fukuoka – interpreted in a modern expression. The corridor leading to these three areas evoke a sense of Japanese road sequences. Along the path, Karesansui – Japanese dry garden with 4.2 m high basalt rocks- is placed with a modern interpretation. The memory and the traditional techniques embedded in this land, and the richness of Fukuoka's craftmanship are meticulously interpreted and expressed in the space, leading guests' to deeper experience.
