Ginza, a district steeped in history, derives its name from the silver coin minting foundry that once stood during the Edo period. Today, Ginza is a living tapestry of contrasts, where history and modernity converge in a unique and harmonious blend. This layered and diverse ambiance creates an enchanting experience for visitors, making a stroll through Ginza an attraction in itself.

At the heart of Ginza's allure lies the concept of ‘Majiwaru,’ meaning ‘Intersection’ and ‘Connection.’ This idea perfectly encapsulates the district’s unique personality, where the iconic traffic crossings, eclectic architectural styles, bustling metro lines, and diverse array of shops come together in a dynamic and synergistic dance. The design of lyf Ginza draws inspiration from these iconic urban features, the historic Tokyo Metro Ginza Line—Asia’s oldest subway line—and the seamless integration of old and new elements. By embodying the concept of ‘Majiwaru,’ the design seeks to capture the essence of Ginza, creating a space that is not just a destination but a vibrant intersection of time, culture, and experience.
