Honshitsu is a Japanese-inspired family home that prioritizes well-being and eco-friendly materials like natural wood and volcanic ash plaster. The design includes wave-like circulation for child safety and built-in cabinets for functionality. An extra sliding door at bedroom entrances ensures privacy and ease of care for children. The dining room doubles as a casual drawing room with a café-like atmosphere, while the living room is dedicated to family time.

The project emphasizes practicality, safety, and health, with a curved wall for improved circulation and hidden storage to reduce clutter. Vertical wood slats add a Japanese touch and reduce dust buildup. The living room’s main wall, made from various-sized wood pieces, conceals the storage room door.

Adjustable indirect lighting creates a calming atmosphere, and built-in cabinets and a hidden storage room provide ample storage. A long desk behind the sofa allows quiet activities for the mom and kids. The kitchen and dining area serve as the drawing room, while the living room is for family leisure. The project received the Taiwan Green Design Gold certification for its eco-friendly approach.
