Hanami is a Japanese concept and tradition, which means “the contemplation of flowers”. It’s a social and natural event, where people reunite under the sakura flowers’ blossom, to enjoy quality time and food with friends and family.
Using Hanami as a design concept, it’s an encounter between artificial nature and gastronomy by the meaning of admiration, sensitivity for nature and beauty for the ephemeral. As Hanami is a Japanese concept, the design of the Gourmet space is the reinterpretation of the traditional Japanese housing design elements, such as the use of indoor and outdoor spaces, materials, and spatial organization resources, applied on the existing floor plan, preserving its essence as much as possible.
By the usage of the existing irregular floor plan, the plan organization is focused on creating the gourmet space around the patio with an artificial garden made of light fixtures.
