Blue Ruby Farm, the latest project from a San Francisco Bay Area chef, invites guests to enjoy a unique agritourism experience at the gateway to the Sierra Nevada mountains. Nature, community, and culinary arts converge under one roof to form a practice-based model of hospitality. A large communal kitchen, centered on an open-fire hearth for preparing meals, anchors the experience.
The building is set on a gentle slope that leads to a five-acre pond with an abundance of wildlife. The kitchen and guest rooms frame expansive views of the farm. Outside, on a trellised patio with wood-burning pizza oven, guests experience the sights and sounds of the landscape and culinary work. Each guest room has a private bathroom and deck facing the pond and the old-oak savanna.
Blue Ruby Farm is a retreat and a working landscape—an evolving experiment in regenerative farming and the culture of food. Each stay invites guests to join the rhythm of the land by harvesting vegetables at dawn, learning water-conserving techniques, or dining under the stars. As guests witness and partake in the production of their meals, a deepened relationship to the land and food is formed.
