Envisioned as an iconic development shaping the skyline of the Thu Thiem New Urban Area, The Opera Residence aims to strengthen civic connectivity to the upcoming Opera House, reflecting the city's increasing affluence and modernity.
The Thu Thiem masterplan imposes strict planning constraints, with fixed block massing to preserve view vistas and urban connectivity, and ensure a unified streetscape. Addressing these, the design features symmetrical volumes for axial views and cross-ventilation, artfully splayed tower floor plates and sustainable strategies enhancing social, environmental and economic value. This approach creates a vibrant, liveable space that balances aesthetic and functional aspects.
Employing active and passive design strategies, energy-efficient systems, renewable energy sources and sustainable materials are incorporated, with biodiversity promoted through green spaces, prioritising residents' wellbeing with ample natural light and ventilation.
Seamlessly integrated into its surrounding urban fabric, the project's proximity to the future Opera House informs a design inspired by the sculptural movement of the flowing river and the dynamic energy of music.
