On a Maremma hillside between two valleys, Borgo Banditaccia is re-formed as a single architectural organism. Once a rural landmark and later a fragmented remnant, it is reborn through a project that reconnects memory and contemporary living. The original core becomes the basis for a new continuity, while later additions are removed and recomposed into a balanced whole. Roofs and terraces draw a quiet skyline in dialogue with light and horizon. Stone, reclaimed brick and exposed concrete form an essential material grammar, shaping surfaces that shift with the day. Openings are calibrated to frame views and protect intimacy, keeping the landscape central. A planted pergola creates a threshold between the residential area and the wellness building, a suspended space where architecture meets nature. The ensemble behaves like a small Mediterranean hamlet—dense yet porous, shaped by shade and sudden openings—becoming a community where architecture settles rather than imposes.
