Located in a discreet corner of Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Kushi is the island's Japanese restaurant and its best kept secret. An intimate dining destination that celebrates the purity of Japanese design through the smallest of details from dovetail connections to porcelain knobs, chiseled charred wood, bespoke wallpaper, and handmade mosaics. The beauty of Kushi can be felt as much as it is seen, an immersive celebration of everything Japanese. Upon arrival, the guest is greeted with a feature arched door in charred black wood and brushed brass, which serves as the guest’s first step into this immersive and tactile journey. The bespoke, luminous, wall covering is embellished with gold leaf accents and serves as the hero backdrop to the Sushi counter. The feature wall connects the dining spaces together using a dramatically up lit wooden portal, which acts as a gateway to yet another sensory experience that is the Teppanyaki room. Overall, the design remains true to its identity and celebrates the true essence of Japanese design through its fine detailing and rich materiality – serving as a love letter to Japan.
