MR PORTER London marks the UK debut of the Amsterdam-born steakhouse, brought to life by acclaimed design studio Baranowitz + Kronenberg. Located at 22 Park Lane in Mayfair, the 700-square-meter restaurant redefines the modern steakhouse with a design inspired by the hidden Tyburn River beneath London.
Baranowitz + Kronenberg challenge the masculine archetype with a lighter, leaner, and unapologetically elegant aesthetic. Materials balance innovation and refinement, creating a socially engaging, sensorially rich space. A ceiling of mirror-polished copper panels evokes infinite height, while brushed metals, natural stone, velvet, and grazing light form a warm, enveloping ambiance.
Brass, copper, and gold tones blur spatial boundaries and add a calming rhythm, while velvet drapes bring a sensual, feminine energy. At its heart, a 360-degree bar anchors the room inviting both intimacy and spontaneity. Each detail supports the studio’s belief that architecture should stir emotion before admiration, offering a space of deep atmosphere and connection.
