Maison Rouge is a multifunctional venue combining a restaurant, lounge and nightclub, located in a historic building in the centre of St. Petersburg that once housed the imperial stables. The project was conceived as a premium destination blending contemporary design with historic arches and panoramic windows.
The interior concept is inspired by a lava lamp, expressed through 16 amorphous fibreglass volumes with fluid, molten shapes finished in metallic enamel. These sculptural elements define key functional zones — including the cloakroom, VIP area, hookah bar and kitchen — while the largest suspended form conceals the ventilation system, acting as both architecture and art.
The space transforms throughout the day from a refined restaurant to an intimate lounge and, at night, into a nightclub with DJ sets. Guests enter through a sculptural lacquered bar connected to a communal table. The layout combines bar, dining and lounge seating, with low sofas facing an interactive DJ booth. A separate cocoon-like room functions as an independent VIP space. Lighting scenarios and a palette of wood, stone, metal, suede and leather reinforce the venue’s premium character.
