Originally designed and hand-built in 2007, Starlite began as a steakhouse lounge inspired by the glamour of the Rat Pack era, the organic architecture of John Lautner, the drama of Carlsbad Caverns, and the cinematic worlds of Star Wars and Hitchcock. Sixteen years later, the original designers were invited back to reimagine their own creation. The challenge was to evolve a beloved institution without losing the character that made it iconic. The new design preserves the original spirit while introducing richer textures, refined details, and a heightened sense of drama. A sculptural hexagonal bar in travertine and wood anchors the space beneath a chandelier that recalls a constellation. Raw stone walls contrast with warm tones of copper, walnut, and velvet, creating a tension between ruggedness and luxury. Mirrored ceilings expand the sense of depth and movement, enhancing the cinematic atmosphere. The result is both familiar and transformed, honoring the past while offering a renewed, immersive experience that feels grander, warmer, and more sophisticated.
