An exclusive members-only club was rejuvenated with an artful interpretation of Baja as a hotspot for seafaring adventure, rendered in luxurious materials.
Elements of the historical structure were retained, now complemented by new custom furniture and décor that use traditional materials and colors, interpreted through a contemporary lens. Local Ojinaga limestone tile is used throughout, the color and textures indicating shifts of programming in the largely open-air space.
An underutilized space adjacent to the main pool was transformed into an action kitchen and open-air chef’s table. The kitchen’s mix of textures, materiality, and proportion exudes earthy elegance. The nearby chef’s table sits peacefully beneath a teak and steel pergola and backdrop of a living wall.
At the new dining area at ocean’s edge a ‘net’ of sisal rope drapes gracefully above, framed by a perimeter of teak slats that evoke paddles or driftwood from a wrecked sailing vessel. The artful reimagining of honest materials creates a space for dining that, like the rest of the property, sets the scene for luxurious, imaginative and relaxed family enjoyment.
