With a chance to create the sister to London’s most iconic restaurant, The Wolseley Piccadilly, we embraced the challenge wholeheartedly. We discovered the architect, William Curtis-Green, whom was responsible for the design of the original building where The Wolseley now resides, and sought to take influence from the very inspiration that stirred in him over 100 years ago.
With floor patterns inspired by Florentine church mosaics, lighting taken from ancient Byzantine chandeliers, and fashionable influence derived from the mystic of the Far-East, we absorbed all of these touch points and allowed them to infuse into our next expression of this classically proportioned masterpiece.
We brought a new family member to life, a younger sister with the DNA of her elder sibling but with very much her own personality and taste. The interior sits within the gateway building at the head of London Bridge and proudly radiates the same warmth and welcome every Londoner loves of The Wolseley.
Not a facsimile of the original, but a re-invention of it’s essence.
