SFEEL Design Hotel Pingtan explores the intersection of geometry, nature, and island culture through poetic spatial storytelling. The design features three buildings arranged around a central courtyard, creating a quiet, inward-looking "island within the island." Here, architecture dissolves into nature—reflections, wind, and shadow become part of the composition.
The lobby is a dramatic play of contrast: matte black stone evokes volcanic terrain, while mirrored stainless-steel columns reflect courtyard greens and falling light. Rising from this darkness, a 12-meter white atrium punctured with irregular geometric openings filters natural light like an ever-changing installation.
In the dining area, a 5° sloped wooden ceiling floats above long cedar tables that appear to rest on water. Floor-to-ceiling windows open the space to views of ancient trees and mirrored pools, creating a contemporary ink painting.
With corridors acting as viewfinders and architecture translating natural elements into sensory moments, the hotel becomes a living artwork—an immersive journey through geometry, shadow, and island rhythm.
