When the familiar sound of the steamship whistle echoes along the riverbank, the century old cruise liner seems to mingle with the chimes of the Wuhan Customs House. Boarding this time-traveling cruise ship, one encounters a century of the citys fashion and elegance, embarking on a journey through time. We are tourists, yet also wayfarers. Thus, we have incorporated the culture of a cruise ship into the design and renovation of the hotel.
Every city has architecture unique to it, often found in the buildings along deep alleys. Here, the designers have recreated the architectural form, proportions, and ambience through white arched porticoes. Freely arranged sofas and rattan chairs are paired with cushions in red and green hues of lower brightness and saturation, along with carpets featuring various window lattice patterns. These are complemented by objects rich in urban memory such as palace lanterns, old photographs, and record players, immersing the space in the distinctive charm of the Republic of China era.
